Dandelion Parade 2018
The Dandelion Parade, a spoof on Tulip Time Parade, was started by Vern Bohl in 1986 as a way to promote the community of Borculo. The Dandelion Festival still draws thousands of people from near and far every year since its inception. A well known and loved eatery, Vern’s Bohl Restaurant stood on the northwest corner of Port Sheldon Street until it closed in 2001 when the road was straightened. The yellow dandelions growing profusely in fields and yards are still the festival flower. The community event continues under the leadership of Borculo Christian Reformed church since 2002. A parade and family orientated activities are well attended every first weekend in May!
