Township Cemeteries

Olive Township maintains two active cemeteries within the township: Olive Township Cemetery and West Olive Cemetery. Information about locations, eligibility, pricing, and cemetery policies is provided below.

Olive Township Cemetery

Location: Southeast corner of 116th Avenue and Taylor Street
Eligibility: Lots may be purchased only by Olive Township residents or individuals who own real property within Olive Township.
Grave prices:

• Sections B–D: $250 per grave
• Section E: $400 per grave

West Olive Cemetery
Location: South of Stanton on 136th Avenue
Eligibility: Lots may be purchased only by residents or property owners in Olive Township or Port Sheldon Township.
Grave prices:

• Original Section: $150 per grave
• North Section: $150 per grave

Additional Cemetery Costs
The following fees may apply at the time of burial:

• Marking and gravesite preparation/restoration: $100
• Cremation burial: $100
• Headstone foundation: $125

Additional costs may apply at the time of burial.

Cemetery Policies

• Each grave may have a maximum of two burials:
  • Two cremation burials, or
  • One casket burial and one cremation burial
• Only one headstone is permitted per grave.

Transfer or Sale of Unused Graves
Unused graves may be sold or transferred to another Olive Township resident or property owner.

Requirements:

• Approval by the Township Board of Trustees at a monthly meeting
• $10 transfer/deed fee
• Sale price determined between the buyer and seller
