A beautiful spring day played host to hundreds of Ottawa County residents with an interest in historic, well preserved school houses.
The tour saw the gamut of attendees ranging in age from small children to Baby Boomers, many of whom attended schools such as were on the tour. There was a 94 year old who returned to the school he went to in the 1930’s.
Many saw “new” old ways of doing things at school while older folks had a tinge of memory come to mind as they remembered doing things in simpler ways and less turbulent times.
Six schools were on display and the possibility exists that the tour may happen again.
